The list of nominees is here if you would like to read the stories again.
Then you go here to vote.
Be sure to include:
Your LJ name
The title and category of the fic
The name of the author.
Remember, there are some fics with the same title. Also please include the category of the fic. It helps the people tallying the votes.
Voting will close on Friday, November 19, 2010. We won't be able to accept any votes after midnight (all time zones) on Thursday, November 18, 2010. The two wonderful people counting the votes will be doing the final counts on Friday.
The winners will be announced on Monday, November 22, 2010 . I switched it because I want the authors to know as soon as possible. ♥
Good luck to all our wonderful writers and a big thank you to all who have already voted. Also, thank you for being so patient with us. The other mods and I are still learning how this all works. We will do much better next time, I promise. :D
Your friendly hc_fanficawards mod,
And now for why we're here...
It's time to vote for your favorite House/Cameron fanfic!! *cue applause* I've posted the links to the stories in case you wanted to go see them again before you cast your vote.
Unfortunately, we didn't hear back from a few people to approve their fics so their entries have been deleted. :(
( And the nominees are... )
So, I guess you want to know how this is going to work, well, I'll tell ya :) It's quite simple.
All you do is go to email@example.com and submit your entry. What you need:
Your LJ user name
Title of the fic you're voting for
Author of the fic being nominated
Thats all! There is to be no anonymous voting. And just so you know we're keeping it real, we have two people not involved with Live Journal to tally the votes. Once an entry has been counted, the email will be deleted. We will not give out any email addresses to anyone.
We'll leave voting open for one week and see how it goes.
If you have any questions, ask away in the comments. hughville , maybebaby1280 , lunschen or myself will try and answer them as quickly as we can.
Happy voting! And good luck to all the nominees!!
House/Cameron FanFic Awards Mods
It's that time again. We're opening up nominations for the 2010 House/Cameron fic awards. Check the rules before nominating.
-- Eligible stories include those written (or completed) between September 1, 2009 and September 30, 2010 and the stories must be finished/completed.
-- As tempting as it is, please find work other than your own to nominate.
-- Please don't inundate the awards with your favorite author by placing all their stories in the various categories. Really focus on great stories that fit the category – there are some really well known authors out there that deserve recognition – but there are also some smaller authors that deserve it too.
--You can nominate one story for each category or subcategory.
-- An author can have more than one story nominated as long as it isn't in the same category (Ex: JaneSmith has a story nominated in Drabbles and in Angst – that is fine – JaneSmith can't have two stories in Angst)
-- If someone nominates an author for a category that they already have a nomination in, the author must choose which story they want to be in the category.
-- All categories are open to any rating and any style.
-- Nominated authors will receive a comment at their LJ notifying them of their nomination.
-- Authors that have been nominated but do not want to participate can have their stories pulled – just email the moderator directly at firstname.lastname@example.org
-- Based on results of the poll not too long ago, Mods are permitted to have their fics nominated.
1. Angst: for stories just filled with heartbreak, arguing, etc. This category is subdivided into:
Angst: Short for oneshots.
3. Character Study: specific story around a character or an inside look into their psyche. This category is subdivided into:
Character study: House
5. Episode Specific: stories related to a specific episode. This category is subdivided into:
Ep. Specific: Short for one-shots.
7. Humor/Parody: stories written for the sole purpose of humor or parody.
8. Prompt: stories that were inspired by a prompt (picture, word, quote, or song/lyrics).
9. Romance: stories that include romantic themes; they can be with or without smut. This category is subdivided into:
Romance: Short for oneshots.
11. Smut: is for stories with no plot, just smut. Or stories with plot, but the main focus is on the smut.
12. Holiday: is for stories centered around a holiday (Christmas, Halloween, etc.).
13. Baby fics: for stories where a baby is involved.
14. Established Relationship: for stories where House and Cameron are already together.
15. Drama: is for stories that are full of drama, suspense and/or hurt/comfort.
16. Friendship/general is for stories that focus on House and Cameron as friends or colleagues.
If a category has sub-categories, you may nominate one story for each sub-category. For example, you may nominate one story for Angst: long and one story for Angst: short. Please note that if a category receives only ONE nomination, we will not proceed with that category. We will, however, make every attempt to place the nominated story in another category. Again, make sure the stories you nominate are COMPLETE and that they fit the time parameters of this round. (As long as they were finished between Sept. 1, 2009 and Sept 30, 2010, they are eligible, even if they were started before Sept. 1, 2009.)
You may post your nominations here in the comments. Nominations close on November 8, 2010.
**In about a week, I'll post an updated list of nominees and provide the nominee banners that vicodin_martini made for us**
Nominees will remain viewable throughout the voting process which begins March 1, 2010. Membership for the site will CLOSE for voting on February 28, 2010 and re-open on April 1, 2010. New members will not be accepted after that date in order to help keep a level playing field. Voting will take place at http://houseficawards.webs.com
For the next 5 days please enjoy the works our nominees have to offer before voting opens. Nominees may wish to check their placement and links, please contact me email@example.com with any comments, questions, and/or changes you'd like to see for your placement. I will do my best to accommodate you.
Nominees located on the FOX forum may wish to send me NEW LINKS to their stories as the FOX forum may be under going an overhaul during our voting period.
If you do not see yourself listed and you believe you should be, contact me by February 27th with your name, title of work, and category. I will look through my records. Chances are, if you're not listed, you didn't respond to the notification email.
A big 'thank you' to all of you who have nominated, we couldn't do this without you! Congratulations to all of our truly wonderful and talented nominees!
The program is 'on track' so far and I don't foresee any changes in the schedule.
Membership is NO LONGER required for nominating, but as with last year, it will be required to vote.
Please note that due to some objections from the fandom to the word 'slash', we have gotten rid of the 'slash' category per say. All stories containing a sexual/romantic 'relationship' no matter the orientation will be listed in the Relationship Based Category. All pairings will be separated just as they were last year. 'Slash' based works are still very welcome in the competition.
The more nominations we receive the more categories we can open in the spring. Please, start sending in those nominations and pass the word along regarding the program to your friends and anyone you feel may be interested in taking part. We need your help so that we can Rock the House!
A quick reminder that you only have a couple of days left to get your nominations in for the 2009 House/Cameron Fanfic Awards. There are lots of fics already nominated but still plenty of great fic out there to put up for consideration and authors to support.
Voting begins October 1st.
